EY and ISS partnership drives positive outcomes

A partnership built on collaboration, innovation and results

At ISS, we believe in bringing ever more value to our customers through truly collaborative partnerships. This is exemplified by our Vested partnership with EY to deliver workplaces services to EY sites across the Nordics.

Vested – a methodology for creating highly collaborative win-win business relationships – was developed out of research at the University of Tennessee. The Vested way of working revolutionises the traditionally transactional buyer-supplier relationship, creating a highly collaborative business relationship where both sides are equally committed to the other’s success.

EY partnered with ISS on a Vested contract to adopt a strategic approach to facilities management - helping them to deliver the best workplace services to EY Nordics. Today, the partnership spans +100 locations across the region - enabling ISS to provide exceptional integrated facilities management services.

A win-win partnership

The growing demand to attract and retain top talent, combined with the rising importance of sustainability, has led to an increase in organisations seeking closer collaborations with their facilities management partners.

Building on the success of the collaboration, the University of Tennessee has released a whitepaper to capture the key learnings and results of the exemplary ISS x EY contract.

From agreed desired outcomes to better organisational alignment and an incentivised pricing model, the benefits of the partnership are clear. After three years of collaboration, EY experienced its highest end-user satisfaction since the start of the partnership and both sides are benefitting from significant cost efficiencies and productivity gains.

We strongly believe that outcome-driven collaboration represents the future of strategic relationships between companies and their suppliers."

Thanks to the partnership, ISS and EY are now strategically aligned and both on track to achieve their organisational aims. For EY, this means delivering great workplace experience and showcasing the ‘next possible’ by transforming workplace services to support their people in the best way.

The University of Tennessee’s Kate Vitasek shared: “It is really exciting to see EY and ISS embracing the Vested way of working. The results have been spectacular and are further proof of just how well the Vested methodology works at helping trading partners shift from ‘saying’ strategic partner to truly creating a win-win outsourcing relationship with mutually defined desired outcomes. I have enjoyed profiling their journey in a full length teaching case study so others can learn from their success.”

“We strongly believe that outcome-driven collaboration represents the future of strategic relationships between companies and their suppliers. It fosters a more innovative, partnership-oriented approach grounded in shared objectives to enhance business outcomes for both partners, including optimising costs and resources,” Agostino Renna, Group Chief Commercial Officer at ISS.

Having previously only delivered services to EY in Denmark, the contract has also enabled ISS to significantly ramp up service delivery efforts in the Nordics—reflecting its ethos of connecting people and places to make the world work better.
