ISS is delighted to announce the renewal of our partnership with Griffith University from July 2024. This new long-term contract builds on the success of our ongoing collaboration, which began in 2016.

A dedicated team of 150 ISS Placemakers will continue to deliver exemplary service across 5 Queensland campuses: Gold Coast, Logan, Southbank, Nathan and Mount Gravatt. ISS will provide a comprehensive range of services including internal and external cleaning, sweeping services, hygiene services, waste removal and transfer services, and consumables supply across all 5 campuses.

This extended partnership allows us to expand on the current scope of services, emphasising productivity and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impact. Our social impact initiatives include waste management projects, Pure Space, Simple Technology, an Innovation Fund and measurable commitments to advance First Nations in recruitment and supply chain.

“Renewal of our contract with Griffith University reflects ISS’ commitment to delivering quality of services in the education sector. ISS is dedicated to enhancing the best student experience and making stronger connections to their place of learning. Securing this new contract reflects our operational maturity, along with the strong reputation we have built across the education sector,” said Andrew Corones, ISS National General Manager, Specialised Services.

Strategic alignment
The continued partnership also underscores our commitment to the university’s Strategic Partnership Roadmap by delivering on the following key focus areas: Sustainability, Safety and Risk Management, Service Delivery – Best Operational Practice, Social Engagement and Community Engagement, The Student Experience, Innovation and Continuous Improvement, and Collaborative Contracting.

Within this framework, we will advance our corporate social responsibility outcomes, such as strengthening support for local suppliers, social enterprise, positive environmental results and First Peoples’ businesses. We will also focus on workplace-integrated earning opportunities for Griffith students and First Nations supplier development programs.

Sustainability priorities
Sustainability goals remain a priority: achieving a 50 percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, including scope 3; maximising recovery rates for organic waste generated on campus, and recycling rates for recoverable materials on campus. Across the university, we will focus on reducing carbon emission and improved biodiversity at the university.

ISS is setting new benchmarks in the education sector, through this contract, with sustainability, safety and customer-centric solutions at the forefront. We are at the leading edge of facility management, by consistently providing forward-looking and integrated services that connect people and places to make the world work better.
