We’re incredibly proud to mark 25 years of exceptional service supporting SA Health’s Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH) The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH). Our partnership has been built on trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to enhancing patient care across South Australia.

25 Years of trust and innovation
Our partnership with SA Health began in 1999 at LMH (part of the North Adelaide Local Health Network) and TQEH (with the Central Adelaide Local Health Network). Over the years, we’ve seen substantial growth, expanded our services and strengthened our client relationships. In 2019, when ISS secured the retender for an additional 6+2 years, extending our portfolio to include Flinders Medical Centre (Southern Adelaide Local Health Network) and Modbury Hospital (Northern Adelaide Local Health Network) – reflecting the trust SA Health has placed in us.

Throughout our partnership, we’ve remained focused on delivering innovative solutions that deliver tangible results. From pioneering CARPS reporting and Winnow waste management systems to implementing Pure Space Health, ISS has demonstrably added value. Together, we’ve achieved significant milestones, including launching SA’s largest Vaccination Hub during the pandemic as well as reducing food waste at Flinders Medical Centre and Modbury Hospital.

Our people go above and beyond
Beyond traditional cleaning and maintenance, our dedicated Placemakers play a vital role in the hospital community. From assisting with patient transport and security during emergencies to providing plaster and trauma cast services, our teams are an integral part of the healing environment. Our orderlies even offer respectful support in the mortuary, ensuring patient viewings are conducted with the utmost care.

“We are honoured to be celebrating 25 years in partnership with SA Health, and we share a deep commitment to their mission to ensure healthier, longer and better lives for all South Australians,” says Liz Turner, ISS Director, Healthcare & New Zealand.

“Achieving this milestone has been built upon strong relationships, transparency, flexibility, and an unwavering focus on delivering exceptional quality standards. Looking ahead, we will continue to evolve and innovate to support SA Health in creating positive, healing environments for patients and staff, ensuring we remain a valued partner for many years.”

Kevin Maczkowiack, ISS Regional GM for SA Health, shared, “We’re excited to continue our partnership and explore new ways to support SA Health’s evolving needs. Our upcoming room-service model is just one example of how we’re striving to enhance the patient experience.”

As we celebrate this 25-year partnership, we extend a huge thank you to our dedicated Placemakers who have been instrumental in building and maintaining strong relationships with both hospital staff and patients. We look forward to the future, continuing to innovate and support SA Health in creating environments that promote healing and wellbeing for years to come.
