Pioneering Sustainability: Insights from ISS Indonesia's Sustainability Talks
The event featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including:
Troels Bjerg, ISS Regional CEO Asia-Pacific/Americas/Germany & Global Business Performance. Stefan Phang, Global Director for Sustainability & Creating Shared Value, Diversey. Rivana Mezaya, Director, Digital & sustainability, Grab Indonesia and Aksh Rohatgi, ISS Regional Managing Director, Asia-Pacific.

ISS Indonesia's Role in Managing IKN during the 17th August Ceremony
A significant highlight of the event was ISS Indonesia’s presentation on their recent involvement in managing the Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) during Indonesia’s 17th August ceremony. The event, which marked Indonesia's Independence Day, presented unique challenges, from human resource management and training to logistics and operations, all within a tight timeframe.

To ensure the success of this event, ISS recruited nearly 200 workers, the majority of whom are local residents from East Kalimantan. Providing extensive training, equipment, and housing for this significant number of frontliners presented its own challenges. ISS's capabilities in sourcing management, supply chain, and strategic management, supported by hardware technology for cleanliness and software for reporting, enable the environment in IKN to be well-maintained. This underscores ISS's expertise in facility management and commitment to sustainability, even when managing an environment that is not yet fully completed or in ideal conditions.

Reinvigorating Facility Management with Sustainability and Outcome Focused Strategy
This theme was presented in the opening presentation by Yan Riza Iswara, CCO of ISS Indonesia, where he emphasized ISS's commitment and concrete steps as a multinational company currently operating in over 30 countries. In Indonesia, ISS Indonesia has 45,000 frontliners, whom we refer to as "placemakers," deployed across various sites throughout the archipelago.

ISS's commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is demonstrated through a roadmap aimed at achieving net-zero by 2030. As evidence of ISS's dedication to environmental sustainability, the company has received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). On the social front, the company's vision and mission of becoming a "Company of Belonging" reflect its commitment to improving the living standards of its frontliners. This serves as living proof of how collective efforts in governance can result in a sustainable future.
