The South Jakarta Administration and Marine Corps of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) is collaborating with ISS Indonesia on carrying out a mass vaccination that targets 7,500 people from the Greater Jakarta area, including ISS Indonesia’s employees and their families. ISS Indonesia facilitates the event through cooperation with Sentra Vaksinasi Serviam as the vaccinator, and by coordinating with Jakarta Health Agency.

The collaboration is an example of ISS Indonesia’s contribution, together with the South Jakarta Administration and TNI AL amid the current spike of Covid-19 cases. The vaccination event is expected to help prevent the further spread of Covid-19 and accelerate herd immunity in such a way that the pandemic can be ended soon.

During a visit on Friday (16/07/21) to Balai Prajurit Marinir Cilandak as the mass vaccination venue, Director of People and Culture of ISS Indonesia, Nerfita Primasari, ISS Indonesia welcomed and was thankful for this collaboration. Nerfita explained, “Most of our employees had to work and deliver services at various places, both public and private-owned, and there was no doubt that they had to meet different people each day. Vaccination would serve people and the community better health protection, along with our employees.”

Likewise, the South Jakarta Mayor, Isnawa Adji, emphasised the importance of vaccination acceleration. “It was highly appreciated that ISS Indonesia had shown its commitment to contribute to the South Jakarta administration, where the target for South Jakarta is 1.8 million to get vaccinated. Currently, we had already achieved 1.1 million and we still require around 700,000. Acceleration of vaccines is crucial as it is part of our efforts in breaking the chain of Covid-19 transmissions,” said Isnawa.

The Commander of the Jakarta Marine Corps Base, Marine Colonel Anggoro Jati stated that the collaboration in the mass vaccination implementation was solely carried out in order to bring the government programme to success and assure the health of the community. “This mass vaccination would undoubtedly bring positive impacts on people’s confidence to recover amid the pandemic situation. ISS Indonesia’s initiative is delighting us because it proves that private companies could also take part,” said Anggoro.

This collaboration of mass vaccination targets approximately 1,200 to 1,500 people to get vaccinated in a day. The first dose is held within 5 days on 16, 19, 21, 22, and 23 July 2021 at Balai Prajurit Marinir Cilandak, in South Jakarta. Meanwhile, the second dose is scheduled for mid-August 2021.
