Now in its twelfth year, the list has established a successful collaborative group which has, throughout its duration, played a significant role in several of the sector’s advancements and successes.
Mark was recognised for his contribution to school catering, where he has been a key member of school food taskforces and implemented leading initiatives around food quality and child experience, health and wellbeing.
Craig has over 40 years’ experience of working with the NHS and is the current Chair for the Hospital Caterers Association. He is a board member for the Hospital Food Review and continues to be a key figure in the Healthcare catering sector.
They joined public figures including Prue Leith (in her capacity as ambassador for the Hospital Food Review) and Alexia Robinson, founder of Love British Food, as well as industry other notable industry leaders, for a roundtable on Tuesday which addressed the various challenges facing public sector catering. Together, the group explored collective issues and ways to work together to drive action and positive change.
Public Sector Catering Magazine’s Editor, David Foad:
“The list this year represents all these elements and I congratulate everyone on it for the work they do in their day jobs and outside to support the public sector catering industry. They will be part of a conversation throughout 2021 that will confront the issues facing the sector and explore collaboration in taking action.”
Mark Davies said:
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to join PSC’s Top 20 for a second year. It’s a fantastic group of people and every conversation I’ve been involved in has been productive and thought provoking. I’m looking forward to building on our progress in the new year.”
Craig Smith said:
“It is an absolute honour to be considered for inclusion on a list like this. Having the opportunity of networking with these great individuals gives us a much wider appreciation of our market sector. It just shows what a positive contribution we can make for the whole of the UK population.”
