In 1999, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, a modern aviation port, opened to traffic. In 2019, the annual passenger throughput of Pudong Airport exceeded 70 million. As the core airport of China, Pudong Airport covers more than 60 domestic cities and flies to more than 50 countries around the world. It is the airport with the most international air passengers in China, witnessing the brilliant achievements made by Shanghai since the reform and opening up.
In 2008, ISS became the facility management service provider for Shanghai Pudong Airport. As time flies, the T2 terminal of Shanghai Pudong Airport served by ISS team has been awarded the industry demonstration project for many times.
Toilets in fifty steps, civilization in small places
Like safety, clean and punctuality, convenience is also one of the criteria to measure the service quality of an airport. The T2 terminal of Pudong International Airport, which is crowded with tourists, has 126 toilets, passengers can find one almost every 50 steps.
At peak times, there are more than 8,000 passengers a day to the toilets in Terminal T2. In order to allow passengers to enjoy a clean and comfortable toilet experience at any time of the day, ISS cleaning and engineering team carefully protect every detail with standard systems and high standards of service concept.

Active, endeavor and dedication
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the risk of imported cases increased. Pudong Airport has undoubtedly undertaken the most heavy work of epidemic prevention. At critical moments, ISS team took on the heavy responsibilities and stood at the front line of epidemic prevention all day, guarding the safety of Shanghai, and won the title of Outstanding Contribution Supplier of Epidemic Prevention Work.
This year, the Omicron epidemic is more fierce, ISS team quickly responded to the airport arrangement, set up a pioneer team, vowed to defeat the epidemic. Wang Qing, an experienced project manager, made more than 60 phone calls every day, sent more than 3,000 text messages, and was online almost 24 hours a day. She led the team to carefully confirm whether the site route was consistent with the actual needs, cooperated with the management department about the route and operation process, and always cared about the mental health of the team members and encouraged the team morale.
Since March 27, many team members have overcome the difficulties to return to work and participate in the lockdown management, providing intimate services for customers. In the middle of April, the team received an urgent task to provide service for international flights. Five members of the team who achieved more than 95 points in the test of protective clothing, were appointed in the face of the crisis. They successfully completed the task for 17 consecutive days without complaints or regrets. In 78 days of lockdown, ISS team made zero complaints and zero mistakes, fully reflecting the ISS spirit of unity and responsibility.
Daring to be a pioneer and benchmarking against the world, Shanghai Pudong has won the world's praise and respect with its unprecedented openness. Shanghai Pudong International Airport, the gateway to Shanghai and a world transport hub, is being upgraded and will receive even more attention.
