• ISS has been a signatory and active supporter of the United Nations Global Compact since its inception in 1999.
  
• ISS took a pioneering step in labour relations in 1995 when establishing a European Works Council with employee representatives from across Europe
  
• ISS signed a global deal with Union Network International (UNI) in 2003 to raise overall industry standards
  
• ISS has worked with 16 Nordic corporations and WWF World Wide Fund for Nature since 2001 to develop sustainable business practices in The Nordic Partnership
  
• ISS joined the Amnesty Business Club in 2002 to discuss human rights protection with Amnesty and a group of Danish companies
